Jun and Pyron was pretty dope.Ħ/10, maybe less. Tl dr: The first third of the episode with Anna's introduction went by too fast for my liking, but the second 2/3 of the episode feat. So despite the pacing issues in the first third of the episode, the "battle of the day" turned out rather well! (Having the fight bleed into the end credits was a clever way of dealing with their episode time constraint, and I hope they continue doing this for the remainder of the series.) But that fight did work, and Pyron had a lot more breathing time to be explored as a character compared to Amidamaru/Mosuke when we met them in Episode 1. It feels like, even with the removal of the end credits, the animators/writers had to sacrifice time away from Anna's introduction in order to write a Jun/Pyron fight that actually works. The jump from "meeting Anna" to "watching Lee Pyron's movie" felt like we somehow skipped a scene entirely - it really could have used the scene where Jun spoke with Ren before fighting Yoh.īut at the same time, the Jun/Pyron fight was paced rather well. (Though the brief nod to Osorezan Revoir was a nice inclusion). Initial thoughts: My feelings on the pacing are split in two: Anna's introduction was too quick for my liking, and it felt like we spent more time being told who she is than actually meeting her. In Mainland China, the series will be streamed on Bilibili at 7:00pm with Chinese subtitles. It is not listed as a "Netflix Original" (as of March 31st, 2021), which means that it is not an exclusive. Netflix has not announced its international distribution plans for the Shaman King (2021) anime. Other streaming services and Satellite broadcasts in Japan will be at a later date.
